END OF SUMMER SEASON 2005 REPORT
28 runners competed in the 12 races during the Summer. Charlie Noble was the top in the Scratch and Handicap sections
which is a great achievement for Charlie. Graeme came close to beating Charlie in the Handicap section but missing a few
races mid season gave Charlie a good lead. Top performer for the ladies was Jayne and if Jayne hadn't missed out in 4
races she would have also been challenging for top spot. Good performances from George Mutch and Andrew West in
their first few races with the club.
The following all improved on last years perfomances with P.Bs, George, Joyce, Alec Watt, Jayne, Andrew, Sandra, Gillian,
Gordon, Ally, Jim Bowie, Stephen Milne, Malcolm, Kevin Brooks and Keith Buchan
Charlie Noble 10 races with  7 places  Charlie kept his best time for the last race which clinched the
handicap title. He won 6 of the Scratch races but could be done with more competetion in this Section.
Graeme Clark 9 races with 8 places Graeme was the most consistent runner during the year with the
highest amount of top 6 places in the league. If Graeme had'nt missed a few races mid season he could have won the league.
George Mutch 4 places in 4 races George had some great performances in his 4 races getting a place
in each race. It gets hard now George to keep the improvement up so keep up with the training.
Stephen Milne 11 races and  5 places  Stephen also had some good performances during the year. Had
several P.Bs during the year and could be giving Charlie some good races in the Winter Season.
Jayne Watt 8  races with 4 places Best lady performer and wasn't far off from changelling for top spot.
Missed a few races mid season and a favourite for coming out top in the Winter in the ladies section.
Sandra Milne 12 races and 4 places Second in the ladies section. Was the only one to compete in all
of the 12 races. Starting to get back in form so should have some good races in the Winter Season.
Joyce Ritchie 5 races with 3 places Joyce was running well mid season after returning from injury but
then missed the last 5 races due to injury again. May have to stop training so hard when getting back on form.
Gordon Macallister 8 races with 3 places Steady runner all year improving on last years performance.
Gordons best performance of the season was in the first race beating the field by 30 secs.
Kevin King 5 races with 3 places. Only managed 5 races during the year but performed well in them
all. Hope he can turn up for more races in the Winter to challenge Charlie and Stephen Milne.
Andrew West 3 races with 3 places. 3 good runs from Andrew who is another new member to the club.
Can expect it to get a lot tougher in the winter session with the races being faster than the Summer Races.
R.T.B. 11 races with 7 places Has record for coming in 6th most times ( 5 races ). Did not
get near to last years form so should possibly take up bowling or knitting.
Ally Mathers 6 races and 2 places Ally had a great start to the season then missed out on 5 races
due to injury. Should perform well in the winter season once getting back to form.
Charlie McIntyre 3 races and 2 places Only managed a few races due to work commitments which is
unfortunate as it would have given Charlie more competion.
Scott Patterson 9 races and 2 places Steady tough runner whose times have been consistent for most
of the season. I keep thinking I am getting better than Scott then he puts me in my place with his strong finishes.
Keith Buchan 4 races and 1 place Keith had the best Scratch times for the Club runners. Work
commitments restricts Keith races or he would probably be Top Dog for the scratch section.
Jim Bowie 5 races and 1 places Again restricted by work commitments but good performances
for most of his races.Peaked mid season winning the 7th race.
Alec Watt 6 races and 2 places Returned from injury mid season and back on form. Likely to be
one of the main challengers during the Winter Season.
Alec Duthie 3 races with 1 place Again restricted by work commitments only managing 3 races.
Times improved over the last few races.
Keith Bannerman 9 races with 3 places Slowly returning to form but still down on last years times.
Expect Keith to be in the points in the first few races in the Winter.
John Davie 3 races with 1 place. Managed 1 race in the first half of the season then only managed
the last 2 races. Hopefully will turn out to more races in the Winter.
Gillian 7 races with 1 place Had a lot of good times mid season. Has been competing in a
lot of races outwith the club. Likely to be a major contender in the Winter Season.
Peter Ritchie 7 races with 2 places Good  performances in the beginning of the season. Should perform
well in the Winter Races if he keeps the training up.
Robert Mcnab, Malcolm Sinclair, Kevin Brooks, Ron Retallic, Michael Watt, Michael Thom,Ann Smith and Maureen Mackie
all turned out but didn,t compete regularly.
